Aussie knitters – welcome…

This is a knitting blog I’ve been planning for quite a while – but like the rest of us (a knitter’s “work” is never done), needed to clear to decks before beginning a new project.

So the obvious question is – why another knitting blog?

Because I wanted to be part of an Australian knitting community whose focus is on knitting and finding good, well written online knitting patterns to suite the knitting yarn available in Australia at reasonable prices (we have an abundance).

If you want to gain this information, or share your information,  this site is for you.

I’ll happily share my (and my sister’s knowledge) in exchange for yours.

Let’s begin on the correct footing – I do own and run a website from just north of Brisbane.  BUT this blog isn’t about self promotion, it’s about sharing the heap of information my sister and I gather, relevant to aussie knitters, that simply isn’t relevant and doesn’t necessarily fit into any category on the website.

Having said that, if I place a good free pattern on our website and it’s relevant to my post topic here, I’ll give a link, no stealing please, there’s really no need – my free for personal patterns are just that, copyrighted but free for your personal use.

If I load a pattern that’s for sale through the website – and again it’s relevant to my posting – I’ll tell you – but you don’t need to buy it if it’s out of your price range.  Take a look at it, use it to get your own creative juices flowing.

Use the help pages and learn new skills and techniques to design your own personal project.

One final comment – we’re not yarn snobs – we look for the best yarn for the project, at the best price.  If a $2 ball of acrylic from K-mart will make the child’s hat and it’s easy wash and wear we’ll tell you.

We’ll also tell you about our pattern for beautiful Alpaca blend gloves using Lincraft Lima – certainly it’s more expensive – but make them for the man in your life and he’ll only take them off long enough to hand you flowers or chocolates to say thanks…..

Well that’s all for this posting, wanted to introduce the blog and give you an idea what to expect when you visit.

Happy knitting…….
